What makes this place so special?
One of the most spectacular places in France is, without a doubt, the Mont-Saint-Michel. Its location on a rocky island, right at the border between Normandy and Brittany, is unique as it becomes completely isolated from the mainland as the tide goes. Nature truly offers a mystical atmosphere to this UNESCO site, as it is recognized for its natural environment, architectural magnificence and amazing history.
What is the best time to visit?
As an important monument, the Mont-Saint-Michel may draw crowds during the summer. But regardless of the time of the year, a visit early morning or late afternoon, as the light illuminates the bay and abbey is truly a magical experience.
